OK, we got rid of Patterson because we wanted a young guy to get experience in the bigs. Why not the same with Flores? On another blog someone said he had five RBIs today at Columbus. If the season's going to be a wash, let him be our number 1 catcher and gain that experience.

Don't try to make sense of it, because there is none.
The management will say "give the youth experience" when it suits them, but when it doesn't they'll argue "we want the guy to get some more experience in the minors before we call him up". It's all very contradictory.

You don't have to worry about who's going on the DL when they activate Hill for the two weeks he'll be available before going on the shelf again. Chad "I can get it up to 74 mph with a good tailwind" Cordero looks like one of those old-timers day pitchers they trot out once a year at the real baseball franchises. Another good move by JimBo: the Red Sox were dying to get this guy a couple seasons ago except Mr. Leather Pants was asking for the sky and half of Fenway Park in return. How's that Cordero trade market working out for you now, JimBo?
