Best Laid PLAN!s

OK, so maybe starting an AA-ball pitcher isn't the wisest of ideas... 5-0 through three. Three homers. Yay!

  • Ah, there's the hook. Top 5, the first two reach, and rather than let Miguel Cabrera give Chico a colonoscopy with a liner back through the box, Manny Acta brings in the Lamb to the Slaughter, Levale Speigner.

  • Down 6-1, Brian Schneider got his first hit and the headcase, Ryan Church hit a three-run homer (imagine that!) 6-4, and the Marlins are going to the pen.

Why am I updating you? Liveblogging is stupid.

  • Why! Because WE TIED THE GAME!!!!

Kory Casto drove in Robert Fick who had driven in Ronnie Belliard!!!

    I'll take thse moral victories!

Now Zimmerman singles, and Casto goes to third!!!

NATS WIN!!!!!! Young bloops a single into left!!!

    We stink less!

    • Well I like the updates. I recently moved to New Orleans and there are not many people to talk DC baseball with down here. I was really excited when I first got here because I could see some Nats AAA baseball, but that was not ment to be. The AAA team down here is now with the Mets.

    • And sadly the Nats AAA team moved to DC.

    • Ugh... Chico reeeaaalllyyy stunk it up. What I'd give for a pitcher who could go 5 with less than a 9.00 ERA.

Remember last year when we wondered who would throw the first complete game? It's gonna be like that this year, only we're waiting for the first quality start.

    • The Isotopes win a game! The Isotopes win a game!

    • Maybe they just have trouble playing when it's sunny and warm and they needed some dreary washington weather!

(On another note... yesterday I truly hated the Cherry Blossoms... it took me way too long to get to RFK. But on the upside, since I stayed until the last pathetic out, it was really easy to get out of the parking lot!)

    • Yeah, I figured even if they were in New Orleans anyone who was hitting over .200 would have a shot of being moved up, but hey nice win today.

    • Today's game was a real treat to watch in person. Belliard starts off the ninth with that double, then scored on Fick's single. Lopez works the sac bunt perfectly to move Fick to third. Casto gets a huge hit to bring in the tying run. Zimmerman moves Casto forward with a single, and the Kearns walks to load the bases. Dmitri Young drives in the game winner, and celebrates like he's won the Series. It was a freaking AWESOME ninth inning. It almost looked like Young's hit was a ground rule double, but Zimmerman didn't touch home, so...

Seriously an amazing 9th and a great rally.

    • I especially enjoyed seeing the team celebrate like it was the World Series.

All kidding aside, great job by the bullpen today, and what a sweet come from behind win.
