Game Today!

Today's the first spring training game, and it's kinda exciting even if we can't really see anything and the game really doesn't matter. If you've got a radio, the game is on WaPo radio (1500 AM and 107.7 FM). I wonder if it'll be steaming online on the WaPo radio site since it's only a ST game? Here's the full ST radio schedule, and remember, tomorrow's game with Teh Blowrioles is on MASN. (I usually watch the first inning or so of a spring training game then get bored)

If you can't get to a radio, I'd expect some occasional updates from Svrluga and The Zuck.

Meanwhile, two of the writers provide a literary tap dance on the grave of Frank Robinson's (as Ryan Church calls it) morgue.

  • Two good posts to read as you smear cream cheese on your bagel this morning (And thanks for not sharing, jerk):

Distinguished Senators looks at some recent comments by Jim Bowden about the team's status for next year and the decisions they made in the offseason. Where's the balance between refreshing honesty and the delusions we all have in the spring?

Nats 320, who probably has enough material to last until next offseason, has an interview with Scouting Director, Dana Brown.

    • Anyone who has either MLB.TV or Gameday Audio can listen to it online. In Spanish, too!

    • I haven't yet seen Brown comment publicly on his future aspirations (and maybe he never will make them public) and I'm just curious about them. Some guys are content and love being SDs and some guys use the SD position to advance to the goal of becoming a GM like Rizzo is doing. It may be hard to keep a talented guy like Brown around if he wants to move up. Should Bowden ever move on the Nats seem to have at least 2 pretty good talent evaluators ready to step in. It's nice to have some depth in the FO as well.

    • If you don't have a radio at work, mlb gameday radio is your only choice. I just plopped down the $15 for it like the sucker I am.

I'd check those two blogs I linked in the entry for updates.

    • If you subscribed to MLB Gameday Audio last season you can still use your log in and password during Spring Training.
