A Year's Supply of Rice-A-Roni

Thanks for playing, Jerome. Enjoy your parting gift.

He's on the DL with a strained rotator cuff, which was hurt, no doubt, while whipping his head back to see how far the pitched ball he released was going to land from the plate. No big loss.

In his place comes up old friend Billy Traber. He needed to be added to the 40-man roster, so the Nats shifted Nick Johnson to the 60-day Disabled List (which doesn't count towards the 40-man roster).

Williams was set to pitch on Sunday. Presumably Traber takes his spot.

Buy your tickets now; you'll get priority for the new stadium!!!

  • I wonder if that increases the value of my Williams to Bowie to Abreu to King to Cordero to Rivera scorecard from last night.

  • You were actually able to keep score through that? You're a better man than me!

Thanks to our wonderful feckin' traffic, I was just sitting in my purloined seats when Edgar cranked the homer. Wasn't much point in keeping track of the game!

The most excitement I had during the game was the decision between beer or ice cream with the little cash I was carrying.

  • If Williams went last night, wouldn't his next turn by Sunday? I ask because I have Sunday tickets. Don't particularly want to see Traber. Seen enough of that.

  • Yeah, Sunday. Sorry to bring bad news...

  • Yeah, thanks. I blame it all on you!

  • Hey Chris -

Joe Mays optioned out of his minor league deal with the Dodgers.

Your thoughts in Mays in the Red, White, Blue and Antique Gold?

  • The odds of sweeping the stinkin' Blowrioles this weekend are looking longer and longer by the day.

  • Well, I have a party for my daughter's soccer team at 12:30 on Sunday. If I stay for the whole thing, I'll arrive at the park in the third inning and we'll already be deep into the bullpen.

  • If Joel Hanrahan were healthy, he would be coming up, but both Hanrahan and Fruto are on the DL in Columbus. In addition to Williams, Patterson and Hill up in the bigs. Did the Nats hire the Yankees trainer to work with the Nats pitchers?

  • Uh oh.

Nats website is now reporting that Micah Bowie will take Williams's spot on Sunday. Yikes. Why have Bowie start over Traber?

  • Hey, Rice-a-Roni would be the jewel of the RFK concessions.
