Roster-Go-Round

It's official.

Welcome Mike Stanton.
Welcome back Ryan Church.

Junior Spivey officially goes on the DL with a broken arm.
Tony Blanco goes in the DL with vertigo.

Henry Mateo moves from the 15-day to the 60-day DL to free up a 40-man roster spot for Stanton.

I'm not convinced that Stanton's going to be especially useful, but the man has an amazing knack for playing on playoff teams. Prior to his two seasons with the Mets, he had pitched in the playoffs every year since 1991. That's a pretty good track record.

It's too bad he's old, and he's declined.

Church will be a welcome addition back to the outfield, allowing the team to approach a major league caliber offense for the first time in weeks.
