First Place, For Now
Well, we're 1-0, with the imposing spectre of Bethune-Cookman on the horizon. (Their website celebrates a double-header split with Tennessee. That's not a good sign for the quality of competition.)
Barry Svrluga has the happy recap.
Nationals Pastime scouted the Nats (without the obsession over Endy Chavez that I have.) Tony Armas was effective, but not overly sharp, something John points out. He didn't seem to have much control over his fastball, but his slider was sharp and accurate.
Esteban Loaiza gets the start today, starting the drive towards becoming a three-time All-Star! A boy can dream, can't he?
