Maybe They Should Scout A Proofreader?

From Nationals.com:
"4/2 Jordan Zimmerman RHP 5/23/86 R-R 6-2/200 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point"

From every site ever related to UW-SP:
"Jordan Zimmermann"

You'd think they'd bother to spell the poor kid's name right. It's not like they just drafted him in the second round or anything.

8 Comments:

  • My guess is the Nats are hoping the shine off the other Zimmerman they have on the team rubs off on this kid.

  • Heck, our TV analyst can't be bothered to pronounce the name of our starting catcher correctly.

  • Yeah... he was one of the ones I backed off pushing at the end, because he was dealing with a torn rotator cuff. He went for the rehab instead of the surgery so he could get the contract.

I can't see them ponying up the cash to claim him off waivers, but if they release him, you could certainly do worse for the minimum -- like Speigner!

  • His Most Holy Reverend St. Barry did it also.

  • quoting from your previous post:

"took Jordan Zimmermann (not to be confused with him or more importantly, him) Zimmerman is a Junior at the U. of Wisconsin"

oof - gotta hurt. Check carefully before you go off on someone else ;)

  • Sure, I got it wrong, but I was relying on what the team put out.

The team getting it wrong is like spelling your kid's name wrong :)
