Stadium Seating

Someone at BPG discovered a website with the seating diagram and prices of the new stadium.

I don't care about the stupid fat cats and their panda-tear bidets, but the upper deck seats where cheapos like me live are surprisingly cheap! $10 seats on the wings!!!

If these really are the final prices, woohoo! Supply and demand wins out again!

(And if this isn't legit, then forget you ever saw it!)

  • Awwwwwwesuuuuuummmmm!

Definitely, there is a division between the "haves" from the "have-nots".

  • I'm ok with a division between the haves and the have-nots, as long as the have-nots seats are good, and they stay in the have-nots price range. A team that makes tons of money off of corporate tickets (boxes, suites, club level, etc.) can afford to let everyone else in for a song. The haves will still want the privilege, and the have-nots will just want to see baseball.

  • Besides, more than a few of those guys who buy $10 tickets will also buy a few $7 beers at the game.

  • The link is down now -- saying "forbidden". Do you think that means it was accurate?

  • Perhaps it was evil?

  • It's a conspiracy by those CHEEEEEPPPPP-ass Lerners!

They deliberately floated the link, then when they saw that we were pleased with the prices, they pulled it so they can double the prices!!!

    DaMN TeHM!1!!!

  • Can't say I trust the prices. They're too similar to the current prices, just screams "place holder" to me.

  • You didn't look behind the plate, did you?

    $300/$150?

    $35ish in the OF?

  • Most likely, what happened was that someone hacked into a link which was sitting there ready to eventually (or "soon" - where have we heard that word before?) be made available to current STHers as part of the relocation info package. The Nationals realized that this information had been compromised and pulled the plug on it. Once it's really available, it will only be available to current STHers, probably via a password that will be sent along with the relocation e-mail/snail mail. I'm sure there will also be a hard copy version of this, since not all STHers do business via the website. Thus I tend to think that the prices shown are the real prices rather than placeholders, because that hard copy version is probably up at the printers in Saskatoon with those same prices on it right now. Once it comes back from the printers, the mailings will go out, the password will be revealed and the scramble for seats will begin. Soon.

With that said, I'm pleased at the pricing, since obviously they're not going to gouge us current STHers who have "pledged our allegiance" this year. Indeed, seats equivalent to my current RFK seat are exactly the same price I paid this year. The real question will be how much more the single game prices will be than the STH prices quoted here. Could every game rise to the level of the current RFK premium game price, with the premium games being even more than that? I wouldn't be surprised to see that happen. What I'd really like to see, though, is for new STHers next year (including those who didn't renew this year) to have to pay more than the relocating STHers do, but maybe still less than the single game ticket price. It would serve them right!

  • Link is locked now :(

  • That link was on nationals.com last night as "Seating & Pricing" in the New Ball Park section. No doubt some programmer goofed in making it available to the public. It seemed to be something that will be unveiled with the relocation packages.
