Fresh off their attempt to turn a gravel pit into a ballfield (I thought building and coming only applied to cornfields?), the Loudon Cabal, as they're oh-so-affectionately dubbed--has bid on the Nats.
They're one of six groups believed to have made the deadline for the application process.
Selig claims that the process will be done by opening day. I'd be shocked if they can wrap it up that quickly. Either way, it's too late to affect this offseason.
Baseball paid $120 million for the team. They're expected to sell it for $300 or more. I'd be shocked if that number wasn't pushing $400 million or higher by the time everything's done.
