Who Needs RFK?

Isn't it nice to see some balls actually clear the fence that'd have been 15 feet short of the warning track at the old dump? Woo!

  • What a storybook finish, and yes, that's exactly what we were all saying in Section 110 after it cleared the fence.

And may I just say what a pleasure it was to see Guzman, Johnson, and Kearns come through in their very first opportunities tonight?

  • Kearns was a mother-humping vacuum out there last night!

(Guzman's throws were terrible. There were about 3-4 plays together that Dmitri Young wouldn't have had a chance on!)

  • We're number one! We've got a perfect record so far!

  • Apparently, the Nats need RFK to sell tickets! Did you see that the Nats have sold just 18,000 season tickets this year, less than in 2005? Apparently DC likes just having a team more than having a brand new park.

  • Okay, there's been two games played at Nat's Park...and Lo Duca has been a disaster! Passed balls, inability to throw anybody out, no hits.
We got screwed on this deal. It's gonna be a long season!

Dude, it's called a "recession." You think this is bad, wait 'till the attendance numbers start coming in across the league this year, as the NBA has already seen.

  • Did anyone else notice how subdued the crowd was last night? It was eerie. The contrast between this game and the rollicking first game at RFK couldn't have been more stark.
