Hey MASN and Comcast

Go screw yourselves. You suck ass.

Where's our press release on that, Mr. Webster?

  • Will you at least train your stupid customer service automatons that THERE ARE NO GODDAMN BLACKOUTS FOR TICKET SALES IN BASEBALL!!?!?

The only thing worse than incompetence is STUPID incompetence.

    • Speaking of stupid incompetence, I was a few sections away from where Ryan Church (?)'s bat flew into the stands and struck a child...the ushers following RFK protocol (I assume) held up the yellow card to signal that someone is hurt get the paramedics, 3 or 4 ushers were holding these cards up, yet it took a good 5-10 min for the paramedics to arrive and then longer to cart the kid away. All of this in front of at least 6 entire sections standing in disbelief, along with the entire Cardinals dugout watching and trying to help the poor kid.

    • Huh, they (MASN) must've sensed your anger, because the game finally showed up on CSPAN (ch. 4) here on Comcast in montgomery county sometime around the 5th inning I think. The good news is I got to listen to Chuck Slowes and Dave Jagelaglear interview Billy Traber's girlfriend about tomorrow's school supply drive before checking back w/the TV one last time. It was riveting.

    • Guys:

I hate to be the salt in the wound. I just got back from RFK. And that was easily the best game of the season. It was a special night. Zim was unbelievable-two dingers-the first one was Frank Howard-like!

    • Hey anonymous, I actually photographed that whole thing. I was surprised how long it took the EMTs to get down to help that kid who apparently was hit in the head.

    • we were 6 rows behind the kid that got hit last night. 10 minutes may be a bit of a stretch, but it was at least five minutes. this is the second time we've seen the need for paramedics for a kid behind the visiting dugout. the prior time the medics were much more responsive.

bottom line is that parents need to take responsibility for their kids safety when sitting that close. and one of the big problems with a neophyte fan base is that they forget there's actually a game going on. they're so busy trying to get cotton candy or a pink mini bat they aren't keeping an eye on what's going on on the field.

sorry, this is a soapbox thing with me. we often sit in the good seats and it kills me when this type of stuff happens. a first base coach JUST GOT KILLED WITH A BATTED BALL, and some of these fans are closer to the batter than he was.

    • I missed about 1/2 the game, and because it was such a rout and I was doing some other stuff too, I didn't see Church lose his bat. What inning was this?

    • Andrew, it was the game Friday night in the 4th inning.

    • I take my six-year-old daughter to the game a lot. We have 20 games in Section 315 (which is completely dafe) but we buy tickets in other seats fairly regularly. We have a couple of rules when we're potentially in harm's way. First, I always take the seat closer to home plate. And, the rule (which I repeat before every game) is that if a ball comes our way, she ducks and I try to catch it (though she is sure she can barehand one and make the catch, she's been pretty good about getting down).
