A Fitting End
And thus the Frank Robinson era ends in a most appropriate way with Chad Cordero, a relief pitcher, batting for himself.
God really was smiling down on us today.

A very Robinson-esque end.
Just like Guzman striking out last year.
But did you see the grin on Chad's face during that at-bat? That was worth the price of admission alone.
I hope you stick around in the off-season, Chris. CP is what got me through the winter last year.

Well, he burned ONE hitter by pulling Soriano in the 4th so Soriano could get an ovation that MIGHT be the difference in his returning in 07 and beyond. Seeing as how you always read that "we need a manager who will build for the future" and NOT play to win every day, that's a pretty lame one to lay at Frank's feet.
07 Nats record under generic manager: 51-101. Book and lock it.

Sure, that standing ovation -- which actually caught most of the people in the crowd napping -- is likely to be the difference in whether he comes back.
His refusal to accept a 4/60 deal instead of the eventual 5/80 one someone will give him certainly will be much less in comparison.
Hey, but Felipe Lopez got a standing ovation too! woohoo! Maybe he'll come back also?

In all the grade B horro movies, they kill off the black guy early.
Same here.

Yes, we make our choice where to sign based on standing ovations given on the last day of the season.
And that is why we're idiots.

One of these many anonomous posters predicts 10 non-made-up rainouts. Book and lock them! Now THAT would be a story with all that lost revenue.
