Well Maybe He Is An Angel

Hector Carrasco has signed with the Anaheim (yes, Anaheim) Angels. He signed for two years and $6.1 million.

The Angels plan on using him as their fifth starter, and are dropping out of the Paul Byrd and Jarrod Washburn sweepstakes. They may still offer arbitration to them, however, because of the multiple offers both have on the table.

As a Type-B Free Agent, the Nationals will get the Angels first-round draft pick. If Anaheim signs a Type-A or a higher rated Type-B, then the Nationals will get their next pick.

Bowden probably needs to find a veteran reliever. He's never been afraid to take a chance with unproven guys or with rehab cases -- which has actually been one of his strengths. Can Chad Fox be far behind? Given the crazy market for relievers, I'm not sure we can afford him!

  • Alas, Ol' Clubby has retired!

I had pretty good seats to see him pitch in a game last year when his screwball was on. It's such a funky pitch, I wonder how anyone hits it.
