First Base Offends Me

It was only a matter of time.

I was waiting for this. And I'm surprised it took so long.

I recently attended my first Nationals game at RFK Stadium. It was a great experience with one jarring exception: the Kiss Cam.

Between innings, live shots of fans kissing appeared on the scoreboard. Couples kissed with abandon and diminishing degrees of taste.

The last couple engaged in what politely used to be called "French kissing" with truly Napoleonic fervor.

How does this display comport with the Nationals' rule that "guests will refrain from displays of affection not appropriate in a public, family setting"?

And where will the Nationals draw the line?

John, have you met Veronica Raglin? How about Lisa Alfred?

  • That'd almost guarantee the seats'd be filled, I think.

  • I know a few far righters. They'd approve. Just as long as it's none of them Ho-mo-sehcks-u-alls.

  • Now that the Nats have decided to promte themselves, maybe they can have a "can't see the Kiss-Cam" promotion for the 10,000 seats that cannot see the video board clearly or at all.
