By G.O.B!

I think he's most definitely got "it!" -- there's definitely that certain something that makes your mouth fall agape and wonder how the hell it is that this guy's in charge of a $100 million a year operation!

ass on wheels

Is it any wonder that nobody takes us seriously?

Read the full story at the Times
, where the picture was gleefully borrowed/leached/whatever. (Helps if I put the right link... dammit)

PS -- What's amazing about the mode of transportation is that it makes you completely glance over the flowing mane... looks like someone's been to Siegfried's haidresser! (file photo: with Thom Loverro)

  • Hey, Bowden's Segway may look dorky, but it's a chick magnet. I just got done watching Lindsay Czarniak having a ride on it on Channel 4 News. (Having a ride on the Segway, that is, although I'm sure JimBo wishes it was otherwise...)

  • I'll bet this is posted in half the front offices of the NL by morning. Only a DC team...

  • Yeah Chris. You sound jealous.
    You know you want one!

  • Here's hoping Bowden introduces the team to "Final Countdown" with flames coming out of his hands on Opening Night. The sad part is that really isn't too far fetched.

  • Reflecting for a second, this is one picture that should archive for posterity's sake. Just imagine looking back on this in a book about the Nats published in 30 or 40 years.

    Classic.

  • Bowden has a Joe Kennedy haircut (the poliician and not the recently-deceased pitcher). And I don't mean that in a good way.

  • Christmas Ape from Deadspin tried out for the racing presidents a few days ago. Interesting opening paragraph for his post about it...

//I've attended a handful of Nationals games each of the three years they've been in D.C. and the composition of the crowd is largely unchanged from the midpoint of their first season on: bored couples, bored families, Hill staffers I want to garrote with piano wire and more than a small smattering of opposing fans.//

And now Jimbo riding around on his Nationals (limited edition) segway, which conveniently will be sold in the Nats new gift shop fvor those that have a cool five grand to burn on game day. (kidding about that last part, but wouldn't be surprised...)

  • I know Jimbo got a Dui, but is this the only thing he's allowed to drive? And if so are they making LaRussa get around on old-timey roller skates or a dog sleigh?

  • Come on Chris! Haven't you wanted to regress to childhood sometimes and do something childlike and be able to say "fark you" to folks who couldn't dig it? Dana Gunnison, The Old Senator Fan

  • Well this would solve the parking problem, wouldn't it?

  • Hey, don't knock Jimbo's way around Florida's DWI laws. Remember the Miami Beach mug shot with the L.A. bimbo (redundant, I realize)?
