Down To 25

The Nationals made their final few moves, getting the roster down to 25. Michael Tucker was released, making Daryle Ward the 25th man. Wiki Gonzalez thankfully won the catching derby over Alberto Castillo, who will probably go to New Orleans. Joining him there will be Kevin Gryboski, and Travis Hughes.

Catcher (3): Schneider, Wiki, LeCroy
Infield (7): Johnson, Vidro, Clayton, Zimmerman, Anderson, Ward, Jackson
Outfield (4): Guillen, Soriano, Watson, Byrd

Starters (5): Livan, Patterson, Armas, Astacio, Ortiz
Pen (6): Cordero, Majewski, Rodriguez, Eischen, Stanton Rauch

Feeling lucky?

  • Yeah... Rodriguez, not Hernandez. I'm an idiot. I get my crappy Yankee relievers mixed up. ;)

  • There's a gamecast for today's game? Anyways, I also saw they used AAA 3B Brandon Larson today.

Guzman probably refers to an A-ball OF we have: Francisco Guzman.

  • Now Cristian Guerrero is batting - looks like they're giving some of their minor leaguers a few last at bats in the last game in Viera.

  • No. Not lucky. Maybe after the excuses can be stability. Waah!

  • How did you find that gamecast?

  • XM just replayed an excerpt of an interview with Gerry Fraley of the Dallas Morning News. Speaking about a rookie they are working out at 2nd base, Fraley said "All they have to do is put a glove on his hand and they will improve the defense at that position."

My expectations are rather low, so I can only be pleasantly surprised this season.

    Maybe next year.
