We all know that "The Plan" was a fraud and Stan is a fraud and an empty suit. He's still trying to take credit for the Braves success even though everyone knows the the credit belongs to Bobby Cox and John Schuerholtz. You could take this weeks Sports Illustrated article on the sad sack Pittsburgh Pirates and substitute the word Nationals for Pirates and the article would still be on the mark. Boswell was right, teams like the Nats and Pirates have no incentive to spend money or field a decent team because they feed off of the MLB welfare system and still show a nice profit.

It's worth reading Chris's R.I.P. piece on the Plan for this gem on Bowden:"It'd be like putting a 13-year old Halo addict in charge of one of those multi-national NORAD defense drills."No, Jimbo would have been using a flotilla of Segways to head off those Russkies...

Bitter rantings by a sometimes-analytical fanboy who loves the Washington Nationals, even though you probably can't tell 3/4 of the time.
