We Surrender!

Can't we come to some sort of agreement just to end this farkin' game?
Stan Kasten brokers a peace between the two warring parties
Or if it's going to continue, let's at least get the pleasure of watching Bobby Fick pitch!

  • I wonder if the plan could be altered, just for a year or two. Now this may sound CRAZY, but let's trade the team, the whole team for prospects. Yes, it will mean that we don't see Major League action for awhile, but really, we are only watching one Major League team in every game, and it's the opposition. MLB put us in this position years ago, when we were the Expos, so they won't mind us not playing for a year.

  • Dammit anonymous. You were supposed to make a joke about Hessians.

Actually, that's the approach I favored in the offseason -- if they're gonna blow it up, BLOW IT UP.

But if you've listened to the statements they've made, they think there's a core here. I spose there could be, especially if Marrero and some of those pitchers develop. 2009 is the key year.

  • Sorry Chris, I ain't from the Washington or even US area, so I had no idea who the Hessians are (gotta love Wikipedia, who knew the Germans loved a good war!).

I know THEY think there is a core, but it isn't in the Major League team. Hoenstly, even Zimmerman isn't performing. Let's say THEY see the core as -
    Kearns
    Zimmerman
    Chico

Would it be so bad for these guys to sit in Triple-A for a year and get some confidence?

Maybe while they are there, they can learn how to not get injured thumbs whilst making tags. Did Guz make us that much better?

  • The second half of the season is going to be ugly . . .

And to think we subscribed to DirecTV to get the games here.

  • I don't think 'confidence' is the problem of any of those guys! And at this point, Chico has pitched like a major leaguer for a month and a half, so he's fine.

  • Ha! Last nights game was a Major League team playing a group of "prospects" and "role players" who would hardly ever start for a real major league team.

I was with my in-laws last week watching the Braves struggle (which was fun)against the Tigers, but I knew they'd exlode all over us this week. Fortunately, each game starts 0-0. Let's move on.

I don't understand the logic of "this is a building year." I think it is just a self funded pain. I can't wait til the new stadium drives more revenue so we can compete.
