It's Pretty Sad

It's Sunday morning, and after scanning the articles in the Post, there doesn't appear to be one single stinkin' thing about the Nats. A major newspaper in a major city covering a major league team, and there's nothing? Not even a tiny li'l notebook with baseless speculation?

Kansas City has one.

Tampa Bay had something yesterday.

And we get nuttin'.

Lame.

  • Svrulga was writing something up but when he typed up "The Nats are hoping that Jose Lima will sneak through the free agency period unsigned, so they can sign him to be their #2" his tears shorted out his computer.

  • Either that, or his research turned up a picture of Jose Lima's wife, and he's still distracted by it.

  • Try being a hockey fan in this town. The two major papers will skip coverage for days during the season.

  • Hockey is better covered by teh blogs.

  • It was a 20-page section and they had a boatload of local games as the Wiz, Caps, Terps and GMason were in action and the high school sports season is in playoff mode. Add to that the 3 pages of Redskins/NFL and the OSU/Michigan game along with George Solomon's weekly borefest and it adds up quickly. Don't forget the pages of box scores and results that people might read. Still, I agree the Post should have some baseball in there, an MLB notebook or a wire story for the fans who follow the game year round.

  • Thanks for your post my man, couldn't agree more. Can you imagine the coverage the 'Skins or Wiz would have gotten on a Sunday after a coach was hired? Massive spreads, huge headlines, etc., etc. With the Nats it's a one day story. Pisses me off....
