Cristian Guzman blows monkeys

He is completely devoid of any batting talent
C'mon... be fair. I don't know if you could consistently hit groundballs that weakly!
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 7:42 PM
Chris, I think I'll streak RFK if he could actually get the ball out of the infield
By Brian, at 4/08/2005 7:44 PM
I'm hoping he doesn't then! :)You coulda put an overcoat, scarf and gloves on the pitch ohka threw to Cabrera. And I'll lay off Castilla for the popup. That was a tough play and a long run.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 7:51 PM
Johnson starts over Baerga - I approve of that.
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:02 PM
Jesus, that throw was ugly. Schneider looked like he was having a seizure when he threw that. And for the Marlins... why the hell are you stealing with the pitcher up? They did Ohka a HUGE favor.Ohka's pitching ok, but they're making a TON of contact, fouling off a bunch of pitches.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:12 PM
McKeon's imitating Frank - batting OBP machine Castillo 7th and toolsy tool Encarnacion 2nd. Thanks, Jack.
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:15 PM
Sportscenter said they're the only two managers today who were managing in 1975. It's a brotherhood of dumb managers.Ohka made better contact than Guzman!
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:19 PM
I like Dontrelle Willis. I wish he worked for us.
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:22 PM
We'll own him soon enough! They're hitting the ball hard. Wilkerson's gonna be extra tired tonight!
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:25 PM
And I didn't mean to step on your turf... your last comment on the other thread seemed like you woulndn't be around!
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:26 PM
Not at all. I only got home half an hour ago, and I'm glad you picked up the slack. I won't be around for the whole game either.BTW, you need to get yourself a picture.
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:29 PM
I'll work on it!The way they're batting, there's more commercial than game!
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:30 PM
Here's why I get all mine: http://www.hustlehustle.com/free/fighters/img/top/1095337549.jpg Think about it.Yeah, this is more like I expected the Nats to look.
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:32 PM
The picture thing's a pain in the ass ;) I'll keep trying!
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:41 PM
Vinny's working hard to not make me hate him.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:45 PM
Nice. You look like the nickel.6-1 O's, by the way.
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:46 PM
I saw! I wish I was there to boo that prick Jaret Wright. I hate that bastard.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:47 PM
I guess that spot in the batting order is supposed to kill all rallies.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:48 PM
If only Endy could do that - it's so easy!
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:50 PM
All he's gotta do is do that 40, maybe 50 times this year and he'll be on track.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:52 PM
I like NJ's Lumberjack beard. Reminds me of home. And Ohka looks like he's about 4'11.
Schneider's working his way back off my shit list.
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:53 PM
Hey! Frank's awake!
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:55 PM
McKeon: "Speed it up, I'm gonna miss Matlock!"
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 8:56 PM
Hey, there's a game! Just got in for an hour or two. Dave and Charlie tell me it's 2-0 Florida. Dontrelle tying us up?
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 8:56 PM
Dontrell's not doing it so much as our hacktastic hitters
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:57 PM
Apparently "Jack's getting crusty in his old age." I missed the context. I really don't want to know the context.
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 8:57 PM
It involves foam and some Depends.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 8:58 PM
Now that would be one long walk to the mound to remember, Chris!
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 8:59 PM
Remember when Charlie Manuel managed the Indians? One year he had some sort of surgery and had a colostomy bag (sp?).He got thrown out of 2 of the first 3 games that year, and every time he ran out to the field, he'd keep one hand at his side, securing the contents.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 9:01 PM
Delgado just made a running catch? That's the way Charlie described it. If so, I can't believe it.
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 9:02 PM
I missed that. Encarnacion caught the last ball in RF
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 9:03 PM
One year he had some sort of surgery and had a colostomy bagYep, colon leakage. It was the condition Jim Rome was born to make fun of, apparently. Every time I tuned in, it was "colon leakage" this and "colon leakage" that. Well, it is kind of funny...
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 9:03 PM
it's funny as long as you're not sitting next to him. or downhill from him.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 9:04 PM
Right. It was the out before the Encarnacion catch. Charlie sounded kinda excited.
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 9:04 PM
Alright. It's a week or two from now. Twelve pitchers? a/k/a, what happens when TAjr.'s groin is fully operational?
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 9:05 PM
I'd imagine Soul Patch is getting shipped out. Unless he gets in soon and starts ripping shit up.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 9:06 PM
'Tis what I figure, too. 'Tis a pitty he's not RH, since he strikes me as somewhat more versatile than J.J. Davis.
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 9:07 PM
Davis is well on his way towards winning a major award tonight.
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 9:08 PM
Ouch.I'm outta here. Peace!
By Ryan, at 4/08/2005 9:08 PM
Sweet jesus, that was a bomb!
Yeesh. It sounded on the radio like one of the announcers got whipped. Lowell must have given that ball a new ass.
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 9:09 PM
I EFFING HATE GUZMAN
By Chris Needham, at 4/08/2005 9:12 PM
This one's sort of a downer. See ya if they do something . . .
By Basil, at 4/08/2005 9:14 PM
Just had to come back and say that Cabrera must've hit the piss out of that one. As the DEA dude from "The 25th Hour" would say, "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit."

Bitter rantings by a sometimes-analytical fanboy who loves the Washington Nationals, even though you probably can't tell 3/4 of the time.
