Three Weeks And It Couldn't Be Worse, One Week, Will It Ever Be Right?

One week til Pitchers and Catchers report! Spring is definitely in the air. Although it does feel weird not having to wear a coat out. Not that I'm complaining.

The Nats signed three more system players to contracts: Larry Broadway, 1B; Tony Blanco, 3B/DH; and Alejandro Machado, IF.

I'd be surprised if any of them made an impact on the major league team this year.

Broadway's the best hitting prospect in the system. That's not to say he's a superstar. It's just that he's the best of a bad lot.

Blanco was taken in the Rule-5 draft. If he doesn't make the team out of spring training, we have to offer him back to Cincinnati, or work out a trade with him.

Machado can't slug his way out of the cliched wet paper bag. He's tried A-ball four times and AA-ball three times. Unless he finds his Wonder Boy, it ain't gonna happen.
