Wow!

A lead!? 10 games in and we've finally got a lead!

(Buck sez Cordero yacks it up in the 9th)

  • Close! Bases Loaded, two outs, 3-2 count, and he threw ball four, but the batter swung.

Nats Win! Nats Win! Wow! I'm numb!

I hope the cheapo Lerner family sends in the order to Jostens. We need RingzZZzZz!!!

    • 3-2 to Andruw with a man on second. I'm so nervous you'd think it was the playoffs!

Oh Dang! Put the tying run on! You can DO IT, Chief!!! A double-play would be really nice right now... aren't we due??? 1-1 to McCann -- there's hope... 2-1... maybe not... 2-2, The Chief has it wrapped up... The Braves fans chanting it up... foul ball! Here we go again... I'd rather turn two. 2-2 foul. Oh YEAH!!! Called third strike!

Now... we've got to get Frenchie Francoeur out and we'll hve notched our second win. Aha! Fooled him on the breaking ball once... not twice; 1-1. High 2-1. Oh, man. Let's get out of this now and not load the bases this time! Uh oh - 3-1. Way too high. Sheeeit! Damn. Bases loaded. Can't we do it the easy way??

Ok. That dang chop-chant is getting to me. First pitch foul 0-1. Stay ahead, Chief. Stay ahead. Way outside. 1-1 Even way-er out. Come on Chief! Don't lose him. We promise you'll get to pitch more! Ah yes! Big swing for a strike. One more chief, one more strike. You can do it!! Foul ball... 2-2 And another foul ball... not going down easy, is he? Thurman or someone. Inside... now they're all in motion -- gotta get him out!

swinging strike. Nats win!! Nats win!! Whoda thunk that? Jason Bergmann beats John Smoltz!

      Hope restored!

    • Bergmann's stuff looked great last night. His fastball was 90-92 with movement, and his breaking balls had lots of bite. Hope he can keep this up, he had the Bravos swinging at lots of pitches out of the zone. Nasty stuff.
