Enjoy Portland, Bobby!

  • And lo, among the beat journalists throughout the great capital city there was a holiday tear shed for the loss of an easy quote. If only he hit as well as he quipped.

  • I'm actually a little sad. This whole "building-a-team-that-people-will-take-seriously" thing hurts, man. It hurts.

  • We're five days out yet, but Santa has already delivered two of the three items on my Christmas list. Logan is gone, and now Fick. But will they get rid of Lopez to give me the trifecta? I'm willing to wait until March 30th for that one, if need be. But I want it. Bad.

  • wow, i actually agree with ABM, that is my "addition by subtraction" wish list too! even if we keep FLop and hope for improvement simply by regression to the norm, i'll be pretty happy we dumped n00k and the fickster. oh yeah, and batista.

put another way, back when we signed him i asked how does "now pinch hitting and playing first... aaron boone" sound relative to fick and batista? yeah, pretty damned good is right!

  • amen...well said you two...wishing everyone a merry christmas and here's looking to some entertaining .500 baseball (or hovering around it)

  • Speaking of getting rid of FLop. I do enjoy the constant demands to trade him, and various rumours that include him as part of a trade package. Imagine yourself as a GM and Bowden calls and asks if a certain player is available. You go back and forth and eventually he drops that FLop is part of the deal. You would run a mile! Of course you would. I'm afraid that the best case senario for us is that he improves and becomes the player were are told he is by the front office (yeah, I don't see it either) and the worst is that he plays just like he did this year (yep, seems more likely doesn't it).

    Sorry guys. Reality bites.

  • Ben, the whole point of Christmas is to dream, right? Don't be steppin' on this boy's dream, okay?

  • Two years of Robert Fick was more than enough. It is indeed a glorious day and an early Christmas present.

  • Robert Fick was the heart and soul of the Nationals. To ditch Spanky in favor of clowns and cheaters like LaDuca and Boone is a disaster. Long live #13!
