New Owner Coming Soon....

Bob Timmerman at the Griddle has the ownership post to end all ownership posts.

He went through the Post's archives to show us what a C-Tease that MLB has been.

Would you believe 23 (TWENTY THREE?!?!?) articles since the move about the ownership situation? It's been imminent for 3 farkin' years!

Good job by Bob! Check out his post for the exhaustive, exhausting list.

  • During an interview in the very wee hours this morning on XM175, the Most Holy Reverend St. Barry Svrluga revealed the tidbit that Bob DuPuy said yesterday that "this whole thing will be wrapped up by June 15th".

It is patently clear to me, and perhaps a few million other interested parties, that Selig, DuPuy, Reinsdorf, and the other bastiges have some internal timeline and agenda governing the progress of this transaction that they have no intention of revealing.

What is so incredibly frustrating and stupefying is that they seem to have near zero public relations acumen in setting expectations. I doubt that they realize the damage that they have done and continue to do to their pot of gold known as the greater Washington market.

How does it go? "Baseball succeeds in spite of itself"?

  • I just used the Washington Post, your official Washington Nationals booster club newspaper

What does this idoit no about teh Nats and teh Post, the Post is ivel, its in the pocket of Peter Asseloser and never wanted a team to come to DC. It still doesnt, teh Post does every thing it can to drive the Nats out, encluding fake stories on bad attendsance and Crap about how teh team isnt very good.

Call me crazy, but doesn't this damage reduce the value of the franchise? If I was buying a car that the salesman keyed and the mechanics poured sugar in the gas tank, wouldn't that reduce the value of the car?

I dunno, I just have a crazy wish that this whole fiasco - right under Congress' and the Supremes' eyes - brings about an end to baseball's antitrust exemption. But then again the gummit has other, more pressing things to attned to, doesn't it?
