Game Today!

Sorry for no update so far -- busy morning.

Today's game against the Pirates is on the radio. Check it out at 107.7 or 1500 AM, as the Nats debut their new radio network (which will probably work someplace other than Waldorf), and the debut of Dave Jageler as the Nats new radio announcer -- joining Chuck Slowes, of course.

Should be good stuff!

If you're looking for news, check out the news links on my sidebar. District and WWN have you covered. Looking for punditry? Check out one of the 3,000 or so Nats blogs on the sidebar.

  • The game is also on XM Channel 183, which comes in better where I am than 1500 (which is very fuzzy), and 107.7, which does not come in at all. Plus, on my MyFi I can record it for future listening, and see scoring updates on the screen!

  • What happened to the other guy, Dave Shays or Shea or Che or whatever?

  • It was Dave Shea. They canned him.

One of the Boston Media Gossip sites said that he sounded too much 'like New England' for the team, and that they didn't like his preparation -- whatever that means.

I didn't care for him, but I didn't really dislike him either, other than his pathological inability to say "Juan Encarnacion" without throwing extra Rs in there.

  • Shays would have been more appropriate for a New Englander causing trouble in the federal capital!

Once I heard a louche exchange between Slowes and Shea that was part of a sound check or whatever prior to the proper broadcast. It had somehow worked its way over to mlb.com Gameday Audio. Very funny, but I can see why some people might not appreciate that kind of 'preparation'.
